About the Eysenck Personality Test

Hans Eysenck (1916–1997), one of the most cited psychologists of the twentieth century, argued that the endless variety of human personality could be mapped onto a small number of biologically rooted dimensions. His two classic axes — extraversion–introversion and emotional stability–instability (neuroticism) — form a simple grid, and the four quadrants of that grid correspond to the four ancient temperaments: sanguine, choleric, melancholic, and phlegmatic.

This free Eysenck personality test asks 12 questions — six measuring where your energy flows (toward people or away from them) and six measuring how strongly your nervous system reacts (loudly or calmly). Your answers place you in one of the four quadrants. There is no registration, no payment, and your temperament appears immediately with a full description of its strengths and its shadow.

What This Test Is (and Isn't)

This is an entertainment and self-reflection quiz inspired by Eysenck's model — not the clinical Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) used in research, and not a diagnostic instrument. Eysenck's dimensions remain foundational: modern models like the Big Five kept both extraversion and neuroticism essentially intact. If the result makes you think about how you recharge and how you react under pressure, it has done its job.
